Before we step ahead, you must know that deleting a Gmail account is permanent. After going through the process, all of your emails and account settings will be erased. You will no longer be able to use your Gmail address to send or receive an email, plus the address will not be made available for anyone else to use in the future.

Steps:

Sign in to your Gmail account on Google.com. Click the grid icon in the upper right-hand corner and select “Account.”

Alternative; Select “Data & Personalization” from the navigation panel (this may appear on the left side or top of your window)

Under the “Account Preference” section click “Delete your account or services.”  Or, on the new screen, find the section that says “Delete a Google service”, and select “Delete a service.”

Here you’ll be prompted to sign in to your Google account for security purposes. Sign in to the Google account you have your Gmail account under to proceed.

Find the Gmail account you want to delete, and select “Delete”.

Enter an email address different from the address associated with the Gmail account you are closing under entering an email address in the how you’ll sign in to Google dialog box.

Note: Make sure you enter an email address to which you have access. You will need the email address to complete deleting your Gmail account.

Click Send Verification mail. Open the email inbox from Gmail ([email protected]) .You will find the link in the mail, clicking on this link will confirm “deleting your Gmail account.”

It may ask you to log in to your Gmail account you are deleting. Check on confirmation and click “Delete Gmail.”

Note: Make sure before deleting your Gmail account because once it’s done, you cannot undo this process.

You should delete emails regularly as it ensures that your inbox doesn’t get too clogged up with junk mail or old mail that you no longer need. We will guide you on how to remove emails in Gmail, but most email accounts follow a very similar process.

Steps:

Log into your email account and make sure you’re on the dashboard of your account and go to your Gmail inbox. Select the emails you want to delete. When you’ve identified these emails, click the “Select box to the far left of each email so that a tick appears in the box.

When you’ve selected an email you wish to delete, click the Delete icon. You can also delete an email by opening it and then click the delete icon. Your selected emails will be deleted. 

To delete more than one email, click the “Select’ box of each email that you wish to delete (follow from step).

Note: These steps can also be following to delete other folder emails like “Send Mail Folder.”

An email account accessible through the mail app is managed not from Mail, but from iOS. So to add or remove an account, you’ll work through the Settings app, not the mail app.

1. Open Settings and click Password & Accounts. In an earlier version of iOS, click Mail or Mail, select the email account you want to remove.

2. Hit “Delete Account” and to confirm, click Delete account or, in some cases, click Delete from My iPhone.
